Old Delhi Excursion

The walled city of Shahjahanabad, popularly known as Old Delhi, came into being in 1638 when the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan shifted the Mughal capital from Agra to Delhi. Hop on a cycle rickshaw and enjoy going through the organized chaos of Old Delhi, don't worry about getting lost in the maze of alleys and explore Asia's biggest wholesale spice market and also visit Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque. A visit to old Delhi (formally known as Shahjahanabad) is a great introduction to India. There are a variety of bazaars (marketplaces), selling a huge variety of almost anything and everything. Jewellery, incense and perfumes, fabrics and textiles, books, shoes and spices and lots more.

How to prepare for this tour

Please dress up respectfully and wear comfortable walking footwear.

Carry hand sanitizer, sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses, mosquito spray and toilet paper.

Do not carry large amount of cash, expensive items, etc. and please take care of your belongings as you walk through busy streets.

Itinerary

Timings are seasonal. We will reconfirm trip start time 24 hours in advance. Your local guide will meet you at your respective location. We will first visit Jama masjid and then start walking through some of the narrow lanes and marketplaces of old Delhi. Now, we will hire cycle rickshaws to the spice markets. On our return, the cycle rickshaws will drop us back to the parking. 

If you have booked a private departure, your driver will drop you back at your hotel.

If you have booked a space on a scheduled group departure, your local guide can help you hire one of the local taxis (this is not included in the tour price) back to your hotel.
